Specifically, the economic growth rate (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2024 reached 5.26%, the highest from 2022 to now. Agricultural production activities have achieved positive results, key crops have increased output and good selling prices such as rice, dragon fruit, durian, lemon. The output of exploitation and aquaculture increased by 16%.

Industrial production and construction recovered and achieved a decent growth rate. Businesses get orders and increase production output. Trade and service activities develop thanks to the effective implementation of policies to stimulate domestic consumption, activities to promote and promote intra-provincial tourism to provinces/cities and the world.

The province continues to focus on implementing 03 key projects, 03 breakthrough programs, the progress in general meets the set requirements.

At the same time, strengthen connections and promote domestic and foreign investment promotion activities; the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) in 2023 increased significantly, ranking 2nd out of 63 provinces and cities in the country. Drastically implement solutions to accelerate the disbursement of public investment, creating a driving force for economic growth; the disbursement rate is quite good (the disbursement rate of the province ranks 10th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country). Budget revenue was drastically directed from the beginning of the year, the total state budget revenue reached 14,400 billion VND, reaching 69.4% of the estimate, up 47.3% over the same period.

The socio-cultural situation has developed stably; digital transformation has achieved many positive results; social security policies are fully and promptly implemented; the material and spiritual life of the people continues to be improved and enhanced. Administrative reform continues to hold the 8th position out of 63 provinces and cities and 01st out of 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta. National defense, security and social safety; corruption prevention is focused on drastically implemented.

In addition to the achieved results, through the assessment, the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months of the year still has some shortcomings and limitations such as: The growth rate of gross product has grown positively, but has not reached expectations; production and business activities of a part of enterprises are still facing difficulties; the progress of public investment disbursement has been quite good, but there are still some investors with a very low disbursement rate compared to the provincial average; budget revenues are still in some localities with low revenue rates; epidemics on crops and livestock still occur; vocational training and job creation for employees have not met the requirements of enterprises;
