(CT) - On May 28, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City held a seminar on Green Entrepreneurship: opportunities and challenges in the digital era.
Delegates participated in the discussion session.
According to experts, in the context of the digital era and the strong development of technology, green startups are becoming an inevitable trend to form solutions, business models, and products that have a positive impact on the environment, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development. The introduction of Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated 22-12-2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution 193/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in the development of national science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development is gradually creating a legal corridor and a favorable environment for green start-up projects and enterprises to form and develop.
Presentations at the seminar focused on the trend of green startups in the digital age: the impact of digital transformation on sustainable business models; potential industries in green start-ups; applying technology to green business development: using technology to optimize sustainable business models; digital solutions to help minimize environmental impacts; major challenges when developing green startups: difficulties in raising capital and accessing sustainable finance; Opportunities from green investment and support policies: preferential policies of the Government and international organizations; investment funds and programs to support green startups...
Experts affirmed that in the context of climate change and the trend of green globalization, if businesses do not start a business in a sustainable way, businesses will be excluded from the global supply chain. Therefore, Green Startups need to act immediately by sticking to the vision and mission, avoiding deviations; establishing a green corporate culture from within; prioritizing development strategies in depth rather than breadth. Along with that, Green Startup also needs to link the following development pillars: environment (green factories and green finance, greenhouse gas emission reduction, technology solutions), social (creating positive social impacts, caring for employees, caring for and connecting the community), governance (Lean technology - lean production and intellectual property, etc transparency and efficiency, compliance with the law)...
