The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan to implement the One Commune One Product Program (OCOP Program) in the province in 2024.

The plan to determine the construction of OCOP products is an important content of the criteria for rural economic development, improving people's lives in building an advanced new countryside and a model new countryside; is a key task for regular and long-term implementation of local authorities.
Accordingly, the general goal is to effectively and synchronously implement the contents of the OCOP Program and build brands and trademarks of OCOP products; complete and upgrade products registered to participate in the OCOP Program; promote the development of increasing products in quantity and quality; organize trade promotion and product promotion for OCOP products with 3 stars or more.
At the same time, improve the capacity of business management and governance, develop products for small and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and production households with business registration to participate in the OCOP Program.
In 2024, the province strives to have 40 more products recognized as OCOP products with 3 stars or higher, specifically: Tra Vinh city, Tieu Can district, Chau Thanh district, Canh Long district, Duyen Hai town, each unit reaches 4 products; Cau Ke, Tra Cu, Cau Ngang and Duyen Hai districts, each unit achieved 5 products.
At the same time, the province will support improving management capacity, corporate governance, product development for production facilities participating in the OCOP Program, improving and developing OCOP products, strengthening digital transformation and building at least 5 OCOP product brands. Promote trade promotion, product connection, and develop the consumption market of OCOP products of the province.
In order to achieve the set goals, the Provincial People's Committee requires departments, departments, branches and localities to continue to organize information, propaganda, training activities for the OCOP Program; improve the quality and develop OCOP products; promote the implementation of activities to promote, introduce and promote OCOP products.
In addition, focus on implementing policies related to the program to support establishments participating in the program, support for the production of OCOP products and the cost of renting and building OCOP stores, purchasing machinery, equipment and production lines for rural establishments and industries with products that meet OCOP. Strengthen the application of information technology, digital transformation and product quality management, build dossiers, evaluate products and improve the organization of OCOP product classification assessment 2 times/year: for district level, phase 1 is completed in May, phase 2 in September; the 1st phase at the provincial level will be completed in June, the 2nd phase in October.
