VOV. VN - Binh Duong agriculture is facing many difficulties such as small-scale production, lack of a stable market. To solve these problems, on November 15, the Farmers Association of Binh Duong province implemented the "6 houses" cooperation program to create an effective and sustainable value chain of agricultural products.
Farmers need help
Binh Duong is not only famous as a dynamic industrial province but also aims to be a locality with developed agriculture.
Currently, the province has 942 farms, of which the area of high-tech application in cultivation reaches about 7,561 hectares, focusing on high-value crops such as clean vegetables and specialty fruits. In addition, high-tech chicken farming has also achieved significant results with 150 modern farms.
Binh Duong's One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has achieved significant success. Up to now, the province has 219 OCOP products, of which many products have affirmed their brands in the market such as Tan Uyen green-skinned grapefruit, Hieu Hang bird's nest, Kim Long melon, etc.
However, Binh Duong agriculture still faces a number of challenges such as small production scale, lack of linkage in the value chain and the main products are still fresh goods.
According to farmer members, towards sustainable agriculture, creating value chains, farmers need support in terms of capital, technology transfer, brand building, etc.
Ms. Tang Thi Hang, Director of Hieu Hang Bird's Nest Co., Ltd., in Phu Giao, shared that the company's Hieu Hang Bird's Nest has achieved the provincial 3-star OCOP certification. The company is looking to diversify its products with fresh bird's nests, bird's nest tea, bird's nest porridge... but facing difficulties in capital and methods.
"Currently, the company is using handmade bird's nests, I really want to make bird's nests that still retain the old taste but have a longer shelf life to sell more to the market. I want to have support packages to buy machines or have a ready-made showroom so that I can introduce customers as quickly as possible."
Mr. Vu Minh Duong, Director of Phu My A Food Company, in Thu Dau Mot City, said that the company has 13 years of experience in making clean food with traditional products such as silk spring rolls, spring rolls, patties, etc. are trusted by consumers thanks to product quality. However, in order to expand production scale and bring products to more customers, the company urgently needs trade promotion programs and promotional support.
Mr. Duong shared: "Farmer households only have passion and enthusiasm, we also need many other factors such as capital, science and technology. In particular, being supported by departments to participate in major fairs and OCOP fairs will help us reach more potential customers."
Find solutions to support farmers
According to the leader of the Farmers Association of Binh Duong province, in order to overcome the current limitations and improve the value of agricultural production, the linkage of production with the consumption of agricultural products plays an extremely important role. Linking the "6 houses" (the state, scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers, distributors, banks) is the overall solution, in order to create an effective and sustainable agricultural value chain.
In the era of technology 4.0, e-commerce platforms for agricultural products play an increasingly important role in connecting farmers with consumers. By supporting farmers to register accounts and booths on the floor, e-commerce platforms help agricultural products easily access a wider market, and at the same time help consumers buy quality agricultural products at reasonable prices.
Mr. Nguyen Van Toan Co, General Director of Felix Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company, said that the company has signed an agreement with the Farmers' Association of 12 provinces and cities across the country to distribute agricultural products. After the signing ceremony in Binh Duong, the company will send direct support staff for farmers to easily access.
"Unlike other exchanges, Felix operates under a wholesale and wholesale (B2B) model, allowing farmers to directly communicate with customers to exchange, negotiate and sign contracts, rather than selling through the floor like other exchanges. Any booth that has been put on the floor will increase revenue greatly in a short time," Mr. Co said.
In order to solve the concerns about capital and technology transfer of farmers, the Farmers' Association of Binh Duong province has signed agreements with relevant units to implement many effective solutions.
6 banks in Binh Duong province have committed to supporting farmers to borrow capital with preferential interest rates. This helps farmers have conditions to invest in production and business, increase income and improve their lives. At the same time, favorable access to capital also contributes to limiting the black credit situation.
The Association has coordinated with the Institute of Applied Development, Thu Dau Mot University to transfer modern production processes, helping farmers improve productivity and product quality.
Mr. Truong Thanh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Farmers' Association, said: "The Provincial Farmers' Association will coordinate with the banking system and credit institutions in the province to develop special policy packages and incentive packages for the agricultural sector. Through these policies, farmers will have access to capital and new technologies, thereby developing effective production models. Regarding the chain of associations, after the 6-house cooperation program, the Association will have a specific plan to direct and guide the association at all levels to implement, depending on local conditions."
